SEATTLE -- Witnesses to a drive-by shooting in South Seattle where two women were wounded said the suspects had been
kicked out of a send-off party for a man headed to jail.

Police spokeswoman Renee Witt said three suspects were taken into custody in the shooting about 3:30 a.m. Thursday.

Officers who were in the neighborhood because of an earlier disturbance call heard the gunfire, stopped a car, arrested three people and found a handgun.

The women were standing outside a house in the 1000 block of South Henderson Street when they were hit by shots fired from the passing car.

Investigators said the car made three passes, with people inside firing at the house each time.

Both women, who are in their 20s, were taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

One is wounded in the foot and the other is in more serious condition with leg and chest wounds.
