Update: The Mariners now confirm that Adam Jones is heading back to the USA. Sources tell KOMO 1000news that the potential trade is to the point where the players involved will need to take and pass physicals for the trade to go on.

Jones for Bedard is known but no confirmation on other players involved. The latest I have heard as stated below is that George Sherrill is in the deal, Carlos Triunfel is not but this could have changed in the last 24 hours. We will keep you posted as we learn more.

Below is my original report from 3:00 Sunday that Venezuelan radio was reporting that Jones had been pulled from the Lara lineup as he was the "subject of trade."


Adam Jones was in the pre game line up for Lara’s game 4 of the Venezuelan League championships. He is not in it now. The opposing teams radio reports “Lara has had to make some defensive changes now that they cannot count on the participation of Adam Jones who was the subject of a trade.”

That is the exact translation by someone I had monitoring the feed. It is hard to say what “subject of a trade” means through the translation. It could be that he has been pulled at the request of the Mariners or it could be speculation on the announcers part after what happened a couple of weeks ago.

The Mariners have been pushing hard for a trade for Eric Bedard. From what I have heard from good sources I am fairly confident that if this deal goes through George Sherrill will be a part of it and Carlos Triunfel will not. Will let you know as I find out more.
