As they say: In for a penny, in for a pound.

On Wednesday, during the radio show I do with John Carlson over on AM 570 KVI, the issue of "political constipation" came up.

It was in reference to the continuing inability of Governor Christine Gregoire to make a decision about the Alaskan Way Viaduct.

It's been years since we were told the viaduct had to fixed or replaced; years since we were pushed to pass additional gas taxes to pay for it; years that we've waited with no decision and no progress.

Now we're told that every possible option for what to do with the viaduct is being evaluated for "consensus."

Ten viaduct possibilities and nary a trace of leadership to be found.

I said it was time for the governor to you-know-what, or get off the pot.

And then I said that as a strong statement of discontent, people should send the governor some Ex-Lax to help relieve her "political constipation."

The KVI program director called it a "big, stupid, empty gesture."

It is certainly that, but it also makes a point; a point we need to make and that the governor needs to get.

Make the damn decision.
