The Schrammie: Wake up and smell the coffee
By Ken Schram
SEATTLE: Now he wants to play the part of the superhero.
But I think it's really all about his Starbucks empire. So let's all wake up and smell the coffee. Oh yeah, something smells alright. Which is why I'd like Howard Schultz to quit dribbling and come on down. First, Howard bought the Sonics. Then Howard used the Sonics. And finally, Howard sold the Sonics. But now Howard is saying, 'Gosh, I didn't know those weasels from Oklahoma were really going to take the team outta town.' So, fearful of being publicly ground up like a pound of Pike Place Roast, Howard is now saying he'll go to court to try and undo the sale of the Sonics. Gee, after sitting on the sidelines for the past two years, suddenly magnanimous Howard claims he has seen the light. I, for one, am not buying it. Howard's 3-point shot falls short at the buzzer. So for being duplicitous, deceitful and downright dastardly, take a deep, deep bow Howard, because this "Schrammie" is for you. Have something to say to Ken? E-mail him at kenschram@komo4news.com. And be sure to join Ken, along with John Carlson, on "The Commentators", which airs every weekday from 3-6 p.m. on AM 570 KVI. It's a lively exchange of information, insight and perspective with two guys who don't agree on much, but still manage to enjoy each other as they tackle issues of the day. Even better, callers are invited in on the verbal action. |
